Reasons To Rent A Generator
There are many reasons to rent a generator but it is not always the right thing to do. It all depends on the situation and why you want to rent a generator in the first place.

There are many people who would only need a portable generator once or twice in a lifetime while others would use one every day for their work or around a farm or some other business use for a generator.

Most people would only need a portable power source such as a generator once in a blue moon when the power goes down during bad weather or if the storms have taken out the power lines for a time.

If you need a generator when the power is out because of snow or storms the chances are you won’t get one for love or money. These are the times when everybody wants to rent a generator and unless you are very fast getting to the rental store they will all be booked out before you get there. These are the times when people who purchased a portable generator prior to the storm will be smiling in a rather smug way. You can’t blame them for that either. They were prepared and when the power went down they were ready and equipped with the means to produce electricity to keep their emergency power needs running.

Most people who rent a generator only do so because they have the need for a temporary power source to supply electricity a long way from their home or workshop. Construction workers are frequent generator users who are able to power their tools and recharge battery powered equipment even though there is no electricity available on site.

So the question of whether it makes sense to rent a portable generator or if you should purchase one comes down to your needs. If you can wait for power to be available that will be the cheapest option. If you need a generator once in a while renting may make a lot of sense.
